Orlando Escape Rooms: The Escape Game Orlando

Escape rooms are a fun (and indoor!) activity that combines strategy, teamwork, puzzles and visual thinking — and they’re right up our alley. Lucky for us, Orlando has plenty of escape games for us to try. The number of Orlando escape rooms we’ve done as a couple are well into the double digits and span a variety of different companies.

The basic premise of an escape room is simple: You’re “locked” in a room and have an hour to find your way out. The way out involves solving puzzles and working your way through the storyline until you escape. The way the rooms are presented vary from company to company. Having visited multiple companies, we thought we’d give some insight on how each company differs from the next and give some escape room tips and tricks of our own.

The Escape Game Orlando

Located on our world-famous International Drive, The Escape Game Orlando offers challenging puzzles in large rooms best suited for groups. Gather your friends or co-workers for this one because each of The Escape Game Orlando’s games can hold between six to 12 people. We recently celebrated Jessica’s birthday here and the room easily fit our whole 6-person party.

Spoiler alert – we escaped!

Be warned though, The Escape Game Orlando will fill all of the room’s slots if interest is there, regardless of who else has already signed up. This means if you take your family of four to the room and another family of four wants to play, you’ll be combined. This could make for an interesting and risky dynamic. A lot of Orlando’s escape rooms do this, so we’ve been paired with strangers a handful of times. Sometimes it’s worked in our favor and sometimes it’s worked against us. If you’re worried about working with strangers you have to either buy out the entire room or try one of the Orlando escape games that are more private.

The Escape Game Orlando, like all Orlando, escape rooms, change our their rooms fairly often, so it’s not worth listing any specific ones here, but they do have rooms for any skill level. Every time we’ve gone, the workers have done a great job explaining the difficulty of the room and making sure we were comfortable with it. They want you to succeed and have fun as much as you do, so they’ll make sure you’re never in over your head.

The Escape Game Orlando was one of the first of Orlando’s escape rooms we ever did and it’s one we continually visit with friends and family. If you have a big enough circle to fill the room you can’t go wrong with visiting The Escape Game Orlando.

Disclosure: The Escape Game provided us with a private escape room experience at no cost, however, our opinions are our own.
